Power line communication(PLC)technology is a kind of special communication method which transmits carrier signal by power lines,including high-voltage power line,medium voltage power line and low voltage distribution wire.As the power line communication is secure,stable and economic,most developed countries have invested a lot of cost to study the new generation of power line communication technology,and the importance of PLC technology has been widely recognized.In this paper,the key technologies in new generation of power line carrier communication are researched.Besides,the design and implemention of the PLC Universal Trail System is accomplished and used for laboratory research and field test.The main contents include three aspects:In the first part,we first introduce the research background and the development status of PLC,and clarify the significance and value of the research on the new generation of PLC.The in-depth study of physical layer protocol of PLC is also conducted.Finally,the overall architecture and system scheme of PLC Universal Trail System(UTS)are introduced and demonstrated in detail.The second part describes the design structure of FPGA and each functional module.In addition,the algorithm principle and its FPGA implementation of related key algorithms are given,including DFE,FFT,PTS,synchronization.Finally,the total resources of EP4CE115 and the resource estimation of each module are given.The last part is the joint debugging test of PLC Universal Trail System and the field test.The link simulation of physical layer algorithm about power line communication and the joint test of the FPGA and DSP are conpleted and we compare the data results in order to certificate the effectiveness and correctness of the technologies of new generation power line communication.Finally we do a field test by using UTS and get some conclusion by analyzing the data of test results.
