In 1993, the appearing of Life Space in CCTV created a new era of the Chinese nonfictional TV programs, in which the ordinary people are concerned and the history are recorded in the perspective of the common people.In the next three decades, a lot of excellent nonfictional TV programs that focus on ordinary people sprang up. Most related literatures in China pay attention to the study from the case, while rarely make comparison and analysis in the view of diachronic study. This paper chooses the representative nonfictional TV programs Life Space, Social Record and Mr.&Mrs. Heroes in three different ages as the main analysis objects, to explore the presetation of ordinary people in nonfictional TV programs in 1990s, 2000s, 2010s perspectively from the social background,content and production.Through diachronic analysis and comparison, the paper finds that in each era nonfictional TV programs come into being with the infulence of their era background, the audiences' needs, as well as the radio and television policy. At the content level, Chinese nonfictional TV programs take showing ordinary people's life and thoughts, reflecting the humanistic care as the main idea in the presentation of ordinary people. The subjects cover the ordinary people of all walks of life and combine with social problems, reflecting the characteristics of the times. In the production level, with the development of the times, the traditional medias and new medias are intergrading gradually. A variety of technical means are used to present the ordinary people, thus nonfictional TV programs are gradully diversified and personalized. Above all, the author wants to give some suggestions on the future development of Chinese nonfictional TV programs at the end of this paper, so as to provide reference for later researchers.
