| With the advent of the 5G era,short videos that can be mobile and fragmented are sought after by people,and bring people to participate in the output of UGC video content.Video blog(vlog),as a more detailed branch of short video,has grown rapidly in China in the last two years,thanks to the support of mobile video platforms,and is generally accepted by young people.Celebrities and ordinary netizens are both involved in the development of this new video format,which has resulted in the emergence of a large number of high-quality vloggers.The academic community is becoming increasingly interested in the study of vloggers,and associated research is expanding.This paper will begin with an analysis of vloggers’ self-presentation,then take vlogs in the Bilibili living area as the research object,study the new characteristics of vloggers’ self-presentation,and seek suggestions for the sound development of vlog,in order to provide a reference for the healthy development of vlog in the future.From the perspective of Goffman’s self-presentation theory,combined with Merowitz’s media situation theory,this paper explores the self-presentation behavior of vloggers in the living area of Bilibili vlog by using relevant theories such as communication and the research methods of participatory observation and content analysis.This paper first analyzes the selection of the research platform "Bilibili",and then analyzes the changes behind the stage and in front of the performance of vloggers in Bilibili from the perspective of Goffman’s dramatization theory,to explore the motivation and influence of vloggers’ self-presentation.By analyzing the performance content of vloggers,it is found that the performances in the vlog of the living area of Bilibili are mostly the records of the fragments of real life of the bloggers.The vloggers in the living area of Bilibili are more inclined to create personalized labels and shape their personal Settings through long-term video "display".Through the analysis of performance strategies,it is found that vlobloggers no longer show too idealized self in the process of self-presentation,but conduct self-presentation rationally.At the same time,they keep a distance from the audience while maintaining positive interaction with the audience,and reserve performance space for their subsequent presentation.As for the motivation of vloggers’ presentation,from the perspective of internal factors,performers have the needs of self-expression,seeking recognition,socializing and obtaining benefits;from the perspective of external factors,there are both the guidance of audience needs and the support influence of platform capital.The self-presentation of vloggers is easy to arouse the audience’s emotions and transfer positive energy,which has a positive impact on social governance,but at the same time,there are problems such as privacy exposure.For video bloggers,they should pay attention to the quality of the content they create,which is the key to gain the affection of the audience.For the platform,a benign protection mechanism should be established to provide a good creation environment for creators,help bloggers create quality content,and at the same time provide traffic guidance for new bloggers and bloggers with small number of fans. |
