In 2015, there has been an explosive increase in the market of domestic reality show, which has provided a greater variety of watching selections for the audiences. In the fervor of reality show, the star reality show programs have gotten an unprecedented prosperity and have expanded the forms of domestic TV program vastly. Meanwhile, it also brought a lot of heated debates on the standard of value, aesthetical standard, and humanistic care.On July 22nd,2015, the SAPPRFT (State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television) issued The Notification Regarding to the Management of Reality Shows, which required reducing the excessive appearance of the stars in the show and emphasized to make ordinary people be the leading actors instead of serving as setoffs of the stars. All of a sudden, the reality show of ordinary people has become a keyword in the news media as well as television and movie circle that has provided a great opportunity for its development. Therefore, it’s an unavoidable topic for us to discuss the development of the reality show of ordinary people.This thesis chooses the reality show of ordinary people The 15 of us coproduced by Tencent and Dragon TV as a sample to conclude the characteristics of program form, analyze the audience type and viewing habits by the means of content analysis, comparative study and questionnaire survey. On the basis of these, the thesis would analyze the feasibility of the accompanied reality shows of ordinary people, conclude their present questions and suggest some development proposals.The thesis consists of six chapters:Chapter One concludes the research background, domestic and abroad current research situation, points out the project design and research significance. Chapter Two pays more attention to introduce the development history of reality shows in China, find out the location of the reality show of ordinary people and analyze its domestic development situation. In Chapter Three, it will combine with specific cases to further analyze the overall situation, content feature, formal feature and communication feature of the reality show The 15 of us, and compare with the Dutch original edition The Utopia to conclude the form characteristics of these programs. Chapter Four analyzes the audience type and their viewing habits by the means of questionnaire survey so as to study the interaction effect between the audience and the programs. Chapter Five will give a conclusion on the feasibility of the development of reality shows of ordinary people by analyzing the recreational value, culture value, commercial value and the objective environment of these programs. Chapter Six will analyze and conclude the current problems, and offer some development suggestions of the reality show of ordinary people.
