Research On The Theory And Practice Of The Zeng Zhaoyu Museology

At the beginning of the 20 th century in China,the museological cause began sprouting.Museology as a budding discipline extremely struggled,for lack of talents and materials in that era and guidance of system theory as well as mature practice.Until the Zeng Zhaoyu's and Xia Nai's period,China's museological cause began to gradually get on the right track.Depending on the immature domestic academic environment,Zeng Zhaoyu et al.,who had returned from studying abroad,reviewed both cultural and social phenomena related to museum in a theoretical and historical perspective,established proper basic concepts on museum and the relationship between museum and society,and then carried out theoretical explorations and thinking,which was never easy work for them but of great significance for the healthy development of China's museological cause.In her monograph the Museum,based on those work in the museum,Zeng Zhaoyu discusses on museum about its aim,function,organization,management,construction,installations,and also principles and methods of collecting and preserving books,and further ponders on the research and education work in museum.Also,far-sighted and professional divisions on the type of museum and the scope of collection are made preliminarily.All that work she have done in her book is regarded as an earlier probe in museum theory in the realm of cultural relics and museology.After returning homeland,Zeng continued to make explorations in museological and archaeological undertakings,including hosting and participating in a number of extraordinary exhibitions and archaeological excavations.With great enthusiasm and efforts,she devoted himself into our museological cause around the anti-Japan war.By virtue of her accumulation of research and practice for multiple years,Zeng Zhaoyu not only enriched her own academic life,but laid a solid foundation for the development of the Nanjing Museum.Zeng Zhaoyu not only paid attention to her own work,but deliberately cultivated many professionals of museology and archaeology.She dedicated her whole life and made a great contribution to the cause in the realm in China.Zeng Zhaoyu was a very giving person in daily life.
