The development of wireless meter technology started in the early 21 st century.As a replacement of wired communication technology,the wireless communication has a lot of advantages like wider communication area and stronger anti-interference capacity when used in oil field.To adapt the harsh oil field environment,traditional meter often prefer to choice the controller which has lower power consumption rather than high performance.This makes traditional meter could not adapt the growing demands of digital oil field,such as remote upgrade,network,wireless transmit of data and mount of data processing.Most of traditional meter uses integrated design,that means make the sensor and controller module on the same board.Integrated design makes different kind of meter has different structure both on hardware and software,and makes the repair in the oil field become difficult.To solve those disadvantages of traditional meter,this paper introduce a new kind of wireless meter with modular design based on Cortex-M3.This kind of wireless meter choice low power consumption micro controller chip,which based on Cortex-M3 structure,provide higher performance than MSP430 while in an acceptable range of power consumption.The new meter uses ZigBee technology to establish network,provide a wider communicate range with lower power consumption.In the hardware aspect,this meter split the hardware to sensor module and control module,and uses communication technology to connect with each other.Different kind of meter uses same kind of control module which makes repair in the oil field more convenient.The software of the meter also uses modular design.The main control module chose the corresponding program to running by identifying the kind of sensor.This paper also designs a set of application layer communication protocols,which regulates the communication process of the meter.At last the test method and verification of the meter was showed in this paper.The test shows this kind of meter could collecting,processing,transmitting and receiving data correctly,also meet the low power consumption requirement,supports wireless upgrade and wireless configure and running stable.The communication protocol is also provides a stable and reliable communication environment to the meter system.
