CAN is a widely used fieldbus,especially in the automotive field is increasingly widely used.With the development of CAN applications are gradually expanding,it has a very good prospects for development.FPGA as a result of running fast,with a large number of soft and easy to develop,etc.in the embedded system has also been more and more widely attention.The combination of CAN and FPGA widens the scope of application of the CAN protocol and extends the application area of the FPGA.At present,the mainstream hardware description language programming software supports CAN protocol very little,so this article has a certain significance.While the use of CAN soft core form does not require additional original,hardware is simple,more flexible,so it has a certain practical significance.This paper is based on the increase in the CAN protocol on the basis of a flexible mailbox management and message management,so that the transceiver process to get better control.At the same time the overall structure of the ST series semiconductor microcontroller CAN design,making familiar with the microcontroller operation can not master the hardware description language easy to use CAN IP soft core.Based on the Altera Corporation Cyclone IV series FPGA,a CAN IP soft core is designed to realize the basic functions of the CAN bus specification,and the e-mail and filter are designed,and then the more complex structure can be designed to meet the requirements.Using the Quartus ? software,based on its Qsys function,encapsulated CAN IP core,with the avalon bus and Nios ? soft-core processor connected to construct a CAN function Qsys system.Use eclipse Nios ? software construction tools,write a test code,test system CAN transceiver function.Tested by the IP core has a normal CAN transceiver function,the transmission is basically stable.IP core code structure clear,slightly changed the interface can be transplanted to other processors.
