Research Of IP Soft-core Verification Method

With the development of technology, complexity of Integrated Circuit is becoming raise. IP-based SoC design is becoming a predominant methodology of IC design. IP soft core is a kind of IP core, it had a big advantage in complicated Integrated Circuit design because of its flexibility. However, there are a lot of challenges while IP soft core reuse in project. IP soft core of metric will short verification time and promote the quality of the whole design. So evaluating the quality of IP soft core to alleviate, the IP soft core selection is becoming an important task in IC design field.This paper main research verification method of IP soft core, using tradition method such as dynamic function verification and static timing analysis, moreover, given some examples to discuss each other's relative merits; In addition, using ABV-based system verilog verification method, verify PCI protocol soft core, discuss system verilog verification method trait and IP soft core using in verification; Elaborate IP soft core verification method deep through formal verification and so on, summarized each other's trait, raise IP soft verification using in different verification.This paper not only had research many verification theories, but also practice lots of project. When we verify IP soft core reality, we can short verification time and promote whole verification efficient, raising reliability.At the end of this paper, all contents were summarized, and some advices were given to proceeding deep researches of IP core design and verification.
