Public library is a public cultural service organization,which plays an important role in the public cultural service system and the building of socialist spiritual civilization.What's more,public library serves service as an eternal theme,takes public welfare,universality,and equivalence as Culture essence,and provides an important place for people's spiritual and cultural life.However,with the changing of social environment,the needs of readers are diversified and personalized.As a result,public library could not stick to the traditional service model,it needs continuous innovation and development,creates new service content and mode,introduces new technology,recognizes management mode,plays their social value for readers.Service innovation is not only the soul of national progress,but also the core idea of scientific development of modern public library.The author accessed to the literature,visited to some domestic and representative provincial public library,such as the Shanghai Library,Pudong Library,Hangzhou Library and Nanjing Library.In addition,the author interviewed the related project leader of those librarians according to the purpose of service innovation,ultimately,formed detailed cases.In this paper,the author introduced the four dimensions model of service innovation,and built a new model of public library service innovation based on this model.At last,the author carried out empirical analysis through the public library concept innovation,the reader interface innovation,management system innovation,technological innovation and the interview results.The dimension of service concept was analyzed by introducing "people oriented","breadth" and "depth","politics,economics,text".Reader interface dimension was started by innovating service content and improving service mode.Management system innovation dimension was stated by researching the macroscopic and microscopic aspects of Management.Technology innovation dimension was explained by the new media technology,digital library,hackerspace and online learning platform.Finally,the author draw a conclusion that,it is necessary to establish a public library service innovation model which can keep up with the development of our society.
