In the 21st century, the application of information technology has been popularized deeply. Under the tide of the informationization development, the urban water supply enterprises complied with the trend of the Times to reform and develop information as a traditional public resources supplier. At the same time, the water supply industry needs to supervise and control the complex and huge underground water supply network due to the particularity of the industry. On the bases of the above fundamental conditions, this article puts forward the information system plan and application system of the water supply pipe network information management, And the system is designed and implemented.Seeing from the current situation of industry, we find that there are still many of the city water supply enterprises adopt the method of the traditional manual drawing management for the management of the underground pipe network, which is not only low efficiency and high error rate, but also facing increasing management cost due to the construction and development of the city leading to the increasingly complex of underground pipe network. At the same time, along with the development of Geographic Information System (GIS, Geographical Information System) theory and the implementation of more and more Geographic Information System Project, using geographic information system technology to build the urban water supply information system has a high degree of fitness. Its own utility methods, function module, data definition are very suitable for data storage and management of water supply network data. The establishment of urban water supply information system based on geographic information system so as to improve the service level and service quality of the water supply enterprises has become the most effective way to solve the water supply industry management dilemma. In the process of research and development of urban water supply information system based on GIS, we use the spatial database technology, information system development technology, GIS component development technology, computer network technology and drainage technology comprehensively, combing with the actual business needs of the business department of the water supply enterprise. Through the establishment of geographic information database, network information database, business management database, we completed the development of urban water supply information system on the basis of the GIS. System construction is in strict accordance with relative requirements and specifications of software engineering construction, and is developed based on the construction principle of practicability, reliability, completeness, scientific and normative, economy, operability, extensibility and openness. The completion of the system not only meets the needs of the business department, but the technology is in accordance with the present advanced software development standards as well.System has relatively perfect searching and analyzing functions. The accomplishment of the information management of water supply network improves the management efficiency and management level. The system has the functions of data management, visual management, business management. Moreover, in the process of design and implementation of the system, through the GIS system specific spatial data processing and display method to achieve the project management application, SCAD A application, through the breadth first algorithm of graph theory is realized for water analysis of the scope of application, through some special algorithm theory and statistical theory to achieve the partition measurement and pipeline cross section analysis system module. Improve the practicability of the system, so that the water supply business and geographic information systems are more closely linked and provides the urban water supply network management with a completed solution and project examples.
