The development of social economy and the accelerating of urbanization bring greatchallenges to the urban water supply, and the urban water supply situation is serious. Onthe one hand, China’s water resource supply is limited by natural factors such as itsgeographical distribution, climate impact and so on. Furthermore, in recent years,industrial pollution and solid waste pollution make more water resources unavailable,which intensify water supply difficulties. On the other hand, the automation managementlevel of urban water supply network is low, which leads not only a large cost of manpower,but also serious leakage. Under this situation, to develop more scientific managementmeasures of water supply pipe network, and to improve the supervision level of watersupply network become an important goal of modern water supply enterprises. Anddeveloping a digital information system of urban water supply network with computeraided technology has strong practical significance and can bring much commercial value.This thesis analyzes the present research status at home and abroad of urban watersupply network automation and also the requirements of the digital information system.Then the development framework and the relevant technologies are chosen under theconsidering of software development efficiency. And then an information system for urbanwater supply which integrates automation management with leakage monitoring isdesigned and implemented. Several subsystems consist of data receiving and processing,leakage monitoring, flow analysis and flow meters management, security management,which thoroughly analyze the process of data source, data processing, data analysis anddata security.This digital information system of urban water supply helps water supply enterprisesto improve the management efficiency and save the human cost. What’s more, the leakageis found more timely, which makes the leakage rate reduced, and brings great economic benefits. At the same time, the methods and thoughts in this information system will behelpful to other similar water supply industry platforms.
