China's special economic reform and development model lead to a typical social phenomenon--a huge number of new generations of peasant-workers are working and living in the cities. They've made a significant contribution to the development of the urban economy. Also, they have a big impact on the stability of the state and the harmony of the society. Compared with the old generations of peasant-workers, they get higher education and more opportunity to gain information. With wide vision and open thought, the new generations of peasant-workers are having a strong sense of self-awareness and civic rights. Now in China, civil society is developing so fast, and network political participation is booming. Then, can we guess that, the new generations of peasant-workers have participated in the new form of democracy(subconsciously or consciously)? If they have higher awareness of political participation? If they have higher level of political participation? What make they have great political enthusiasm, just because the political resources are scarce in reality? What are the key factors? We've got so many doubts now. Therefore, I've taken a research of the network political participation of the new generations of peasant-workers. I find that, they contact with the new media frequently, but they don't trust it completely; they approve of the value of the network political participation, but their consciousness of network political participation, and sense of efficacy is very low, their willingness of network political participation is disturbed by many factors. I find that, the knowledge gap theory and the limited effects theory do have a significant impact. This thesis is very empirical, having great value in social reality.
