In the early 2005, Chinese government set up the goal of constructing a harmonious society in which we love and help each other, concern about the disadvantaged groups and strengthen their harmonious relationships with other groups. As one important part of the disadvantaged groups, the peasant-workers'work and life, including their cultural life should be paid more attention. Based on both library science and social science theories, including the readers'services, the readers'right, the five laws of library science, the rural-urban dual structure and the adaptation to city life, the study expounds the importance and necessities of library services for the peasant-workers, further more carries out an investigation for understanding the information needs and public library use behaviors of the peasant-workers in Guangzhou. It has been found that the peasant-workers strongly require for some types of information, such as recreation, employment, laws and policies, and investment; meanwhile information is obtained from a variety of channels; in case of public library services, reading service is most preferred, while other services are seldom used; for those who have not used the library services yet, some false ideas are formed about the library services, because they are ill-informed of the libraries; in addition, whether the peasant-workers come to use the library services depends largely on the convenience of access, and service quality determines whether they introduce the libraries to others. Nowadays, Guangzhou public libraries in the lack of resources pay little attention to the peasant-workers.
