With the development of computer science, how to allocate and use computing resources more efficiently has become an important topic. The rapid development of cloud computing has made a great combination of computing resources and making it possible to allocate on demand. OpenStack is an open source cloud platform which is widely popular. The cloud platform that integrates computing, storage and networking resources,can manage physical computer cluster in a certian way, and provide service in a form of virtual machine. Since OpenStack platform have a stable performance and easy to expand, it has a hug number of users worldwide. Especially in the field of private cloud, the OpenStack is popular with the customers from government, enterprises and universities.Although OpenStack has powerful features and have been used by hundreds of companies in the world, it is still not a perfect software. In the field of cloud platform monitoring, OpenStack is always of a sophisticated monitoring software.It's because cloud platform serve widely, having a complex structure incide, and peforms really opaque to the outside world. Once there are some bottlenecks or something wrong with cloud platform, users and administrators are often difficult to find the problems. Also because of the complexity of the cloud platform, building a monitoring also need to face the performance problem because of large-scale-server.Thus, in the cloud platform service, it's necessary to establish a fully functional and stable monitoring system. Based on this point, the article have done a deep research on OpenStack monitoring technology. The paper also analyzes and explains the key problems and difficulties of building monitoring systems that may be encountered in the complex cloud infrastructure environments. Finally, we designed and implemented a monitoring system based on OpenStack cloud platform. The following are two innovation points:(1)The paper precent a monitoring system that can perfectly fit the OpenStack cloud platform. The system provide both monitoring and control functions. The solution provided by the paper can fill the scarcity of the field of monitoring system in the OpenStack platform.(2)Concidering both from functional and performance, the paper have designed a monitoring system architecture that allows people dynamically adjust and expand the system. This architecture makes the usage of resources more rational, and can be flexibly adjusted in different demand situations.
