With the rapid development of cloud computing technology, governments pay more and more attention to the cloud computing services industry and regard it as a new opportunity for the rapid development of the national software industry. Cloud computing service has become one of the National Development Strategies of China in 12 th Five-Year, which has brought new impetus and challenges to China's economic engine.Openstack is currently the most popular open-source cloud computing platform, which is an open source project developed together by Rackspace company that is one of the world's three major cloud computing center and America's National Aeronautics and Space Administration(NASA). It aims to provide services for the construction and management of public and private cloud. OpenStack cloud computing platform shared resources through a variety of services. Up to now, 576 companies and 37675 developers in 178 countries have been involved in the community.In order to guarantee the service quality of OpenStack cloud platform, the cloud monitoring system is essential. At present, the monitoring of the physical machine, virtual machine and the related service of OpenStack cloud platform is mainly carried out by the management personnel. With the increasing size of the cloud platform, it is difficult for administrator to take a real-time and effective monitoring and there may be a failure to discover and handle the fault in a timely manner. Therefore, manual monitoring can't guarantee the service quality of cloud platform.Based on actual demand, this paper designs a set of monitoring system based on openstack cloud platform to achieve real-time monitoring on physical machine resources, virtual machine resource and related service state of the openstack cloud platform through the research and in-depth study of OpenStack technology, virtualization technology and monitoring technology. By improving the reliability and stability of the OpenStack cloud platform, we can ensure its high quality service without affecting the normal operation of the cloud platform.
