The Research Of The Scientific Data Service And Strategy In University Library

With the development of information society and the advent of the era of big data, more and more academic exchanges and scientific research environment is changing. Scientific research is being turned into data-intensive science research. More and more scientific researches are no longer made from scratch, but based on the organization, analysis, interpretation, renew, and recycling of the existing data. The university scientific research activities play an important role in the whole society of scientific research system, so the university library should use its resources to carry out scientific data service for teachers and students in colleges and universities. Some foreign university libraries have successful experience of carrying out the scientific data service, while the university libraries in our country are in the preliminary exploration stage. Based on the theory and practice of foreign university library, this article provides support on theory and practice for university libraries in our country to carry out the scientific data service.Under the background of e-science research, also the background of the scientific research in colleges and universities, this text discusses the characteristics of scientific data of university, analyses the advantage of the university library carrying out the research data service. This paper also analyses scientific data service based on the analysis of the meaning of scientific data, and divides scientific data into three factors. It divides scientific data which based on the data lifecycle into three stages, the stage of raw data, data processing and knowledge extraction, and discusses the different types of scientific data service. Based on the theory of scientific data service, this paper chooses a few colleges and universities which had carried out the scientific data service to analyses. It discusses the way and detail of the scientific data service and find out the similarity in core institution, service mode and policy system.This paper finds the existing problems on the university library that carrying on the scientific data service in our country, including the lack of institutional repository, policy systems and scientific data literacy education, and makes suggestions to university libraries on carrying on the scientific data service respectively.
