This thesis presents design and implementation of vehicle engine test bench management system for Shanghai Institute of Internal Combustion Engine (SICERI) which goal is to provide information support to various types of experimental operations and data analysis tasks to raise the vehicle engine experiment efficiency and accuracy.Combined with the real application objectives this thesis places emphasis on the system's current-phase functional requirement analysis which are experimental basic information management, experimental tasks management and data analysis. Its basic information management functions provide an electronic and graphical environment for the engineer to prepare the experiment works and display and playback experimental data. The task management functions provide the experimental project information configuration, control operating control and process monitoring setup. The experimental data analysis functions provide the data processing, statistics and indicators evaluation on the data collected from various test benches which guarantees the technical quality and formalization through the standard numerical models. This software uses the client/server global framework in which the client side is organized in the units of working views while on the server side the application software is organized in hierarchy of test bench basic information layer, tasks management layer, experimental data analysis layer and database management layer. Each layer is designed by means of the object-oriented techniques and programmed with C++ and its database uses the relational SQL Server running in the environment of Windows. At last the thesis presents the software's programming methods and test procedures.Through its software development and probationary running, this software creates a flexible electronic environment for the engineer to realize various formalized types of engine test bench management and the integrated data processing, making the experiment information well-shared among all projects, raising the supportive effects by the experiment information and well satisfying the business requirements.
