In the process of heating coke oven, coke oven flue temperature is an important parameter. Keeping the coke oven fire temperature steady is very significant for reducing the fuel consumption, improving the efficiency of energy and the quality of coke, and lengthening the furnace life. So how to control the stability of the coke oven fire temperature has crucial significance.The heating process of coke oven has the characteristics of large inertia, strong time delay and so on. Thus, using conventional algorithm is difficult to achieve good control effect. In this paper, starting from the coke oven production process, the influence factors and the difficulties in the control of the fire temperature in the heating process of coke oven are analyzed in detail. For the heating process of coke oven,collecting large number of historical input and output data, a simplified model of the fire temperature is obtained by using the F-text method and the recursive least square method. On the basis of introducing the principle of the traditional PID control algorithm and fuzzy control algorithm, a Fuzzy PID controller is detailedly designed with the heating process of coke oven fully considered. Then, the obtained results are simulated by MATLAB. It shows that fuzzy PID control algorithm has better dynamic characteristics, adaptability and immunity compared with the traditional PID control algorithm.Finally, this paper describes the fuzzy PID control algorithm application in SUPCON JX-300 XP system. The Jingdezhen Coking Plant Industry Group 5# coke oven as the background, using the cascade control scheme in which the main circuit adopts the fuzzy PID control algorithm and the secondary loop employs PID control algorithm. Moreover, the design process of the configuration in SUPCON JX-300 XP system is also presented. After the system is applied in operation, the furnace temperature fluctuation problem disappears and the stability of coke oven flue temperature is improved. What's more, the consumption amount of heating gas is reduced and it results in certain economic benefits.
