As a speed regulation method of high efficiency and saving energy, the high-frequency chopper cascade speed regulation technology is widely used in power,water conservancy, metallurgical and other industries. To ensure the industrial productions go smoothly and safely, it's important to collect the operating data of the cascade speed regulation system, which means to monitor the cascade speed regulation system in real time to understand it's running situations. However, the approach to supervise the cascade speed regulation system at present is still using the on-site monitoring method, and this monitoring method is inefficient and unsafe. As the working environment of the cascade speed regulation system is growing more complex, the traditional on-site monitoring method is no longer applicable.In view of the above problems, this paper designs a remote monitoring system based on the mobile network, which applies to the cascade speed regulation system. The remote monitoring system realizes to monitor the cascade speed regulation system remotely, which has important significance for expanding the technician's operational ability and improving the working efficiency. The remote monitoring system uses the WCDMA wireless networks as the platform of date communication, the software architecture uses the C/S model, and the data transfer protocol uses the UDP-protocol.The remote monitoring system is comprised of the three parts of 3G data terminal, the server and the monitoring client. The design of the 3G data terminal consists of two parts,hardware design and software design.In the side of hardware design, the MC9S12X128 SCM is the control unit, and the EM770 W is used as the wireless transmitting module.As for software design, the CW IDE is used for the compilation and optimization of the program code, and finishes the design of the main program, the parameter collection subprogram and so on. The development of the server and the client is based on the MFC,and uses the multi-thread technology and Socket as the technical support, which realizes the distant surveillance and control to the cascade speed regulation system under the help of the 3G data terminal. To store the monitoring data regularly and efficiently, the database is introduced to the server, and the design of the database is based on the My SQL. Finally, the paper tests the overall running conditions of the remote monitoring system, the test results show that all function modules of the system work well, and can accomplish the task of monitoring the cascade speed regulation system remotely.
