This thesis presents design and implementation of Changjiang Raw Water Factory's production monitoring system. This system is developed according to the actual requirements in guaranteeing the production reliability and the water quality which is one of the important components of the whole production running and controlling management platform.This software is a distributed system constructed on basis of the production equipments control network and is organized in hierarchical architecture with central control station management layer, runtime monitoring management layer and data management layer. The central station management layer displays and processes the static information and dynamic view interactively for the engineer users. The runtime monitoring management layer is the major functional layer which is configured with programs which executes control and processing of raw water production, water quality dynamic monitoring and equipment defects detection as well as analyzing, computation and statistics on the collected original data set. Inside each program the object-oriented technique and programming model are applied to design and organization. Its data management layer applies the uniform logic data model for the production monitoring data storage and access procedures.This software is programmed with C++ and its database server is Oracle. Through reasonably applying software engineering methodologies and techniques, and from the viewpoint of raw water production management. This system's development mainly satisfies the requirements in production-flow monitoring, water quality monitoring and equipment runtime defects monitoring demands. Particularly in the aspect of water quality monitoring, this system reaches the effect of accuracy, timeliness and completeness which is hard to the previous measures, satisfying the requirement to raise the water factory's quality management level in consequence.
