Underground city gas pipeline is an important urban infrastructure, strengthening the gas underground pipeline information management is of great significance to the security and development of the city. With the acceleration of urbanization, expanding cities, city gas increasingly large underground pipe network system, the complexity of managing increasing every year. For a long time, however, more information on the gas pipeline underground city with drawings, charts and cards and other forms of record keeping, the use of artificial means management, it is difficult to efficiently manage large amounts of network data, can not extract the useful information from vast amounts of data in the network, severely restricted the rapid development of the city. Traditional management and urban construction, management and development of the contradictions become increasingly prominent, the use of high-tech and efficient approach to the management of urban underground gas pipeline to meet the decision-making, management and construction unit needs has become imperative. With the rapid development of a city gas business, current work and management needs to be improved, require the application of advanced information technology to improve work and management efficiency.In this paper, the characteristics and the actual needs of the urban underground pipe network management work on an in-depth study, based on a comprehensive analysis of the development of the open source GIS methods and technical route distribution network information management system, studies the key technologies of underground pipe network information management system and the realization method, and finally for a city pipe network information management business currently, compared to various types of open source GIS platform, presented a complete solution for the urban underground pipe network information management system, and the use of open-source platform Geoserver, spatial database PostgreSQL, C# programming language, Silverlight information technology has developed a network management system.The main contents of this paper are divided into the following three aspects:1. Demand basis to fully understand and analyze the distribution network information management business, determine the technical route system, the main technology used in the system(including open source GIS technology, spatial database technology, network transmission technology, pipeline data analysis model, etc.) research, laid the technical basis for the system development and implementation of the foundation.2. Structure and classification of network data analysis and research, using PostgreSQL spatial data templates to create and organize pipe network data to achieve a pipe network attribute information and illustrations integrated storage.3. Design and implement functional Chengshiguanwang information management system, including export import data, network data query(quick query, spatial query and integrated query), network analysis(connectivity analysis, analysis of burst pipes, a cross-sectional analysis, vertical section analysis and burst pipes analysis), statistical summary(by age, stress statistics), length and area measurement tools.
