| With the fast development of information technology,"digital city"has been widely recognized as an efficient mode of managing and utilize the free space inside the cities. To develop an efficient Geographic Information System (GIS), which can dramatically promote the application of digital information and in science municipal daning and management.and enhancing the management leverage efficiency, and hence in stimulating the healthy development of civilization, will have practical significance.Based on detailed theoretical study and practical research, this thesis presents a feasible approach to design and build an information management system by using Maponjects, a key functional component of GIS, and Visual Basic 6.0. This approach was further verified by the implementation of this information management system by Shandong Zibo Urban Development and Municipal Administration Bureau. The practical application demonstrates that this system can be applied directly to the city construction planning and the municipal administration management, and thus to realzie the digitization of the space information inside the cities. This thesis has five main chapters, which discuss the systematic conceiving design, development and implementation of the information management system respectively. The main conclusions included in this thesis:(1) Presently complete Geographic Information System for plening urban building and municipal management. The practical application in Zibo city illustrates that the design and implementation of this technique is feasible.(2) The realization of this technique is independent of the other components of GIS indicating the reliability of the performance of MapObjects. This characteristic can dramatically benefit the budget control in the development and application of this technique.(3) The presented information management system improved the quality of the map output from MapObjects and expanded its capacity in vector space analysis. Also, this system can handle the CAD to SHAPE format conversion thus strengthens the practical value of MapObjects. Moreover, this tool compensates the deficiency of GSI as comparing to other main commercial softwares. |
