In recent years, with the rapid development of science and technology, makes a lot of traditional manufacturing industry gradually took to the way of industrial production. In current textile printing and dyeing industry, Edge Detection and Electronic Control Device is a very important equipment, it’s main function is to ensure that the cloth of high-speed transmission can keep in right transfer direction before entering the heat setting machine, then ensure the finalize the design quality of cloth. In order to enhance the stability, real-time and accuracy of the device, the paper used the non-contact linear CCD as the cloth image signal acquisition device, used ARM9 as the main control chip of the system, designed a high precision, fast tracking speed, stable performance and reliable electric control system of the edge detection.The system takes the 32-bit ARM9 microprocessor chip of high performance and low power consumption as the main control platform of the system, by controlling the CPLD to produce precise linear array CCD driving timing, to ensure the linear array CCD can work stably. At the same time, the system through A/D conversion chip to collect the image information of linear array CCD output. After collected a frame image data, the system processes the imaging information data to detect the current position of the cloth edge. Then according to the detected edge position value, to determine the current controlling amount and control motor work, to ensure the cloth can step on pin plate and keep the right transfer direction.This article firstly elaborated the research background and meaning and the research status at home and abroad of the subject, then elaborated general frame design of system and working principle of system, and then introduced in detail the hardware design and software design of the whole system. Hardware circuit design is mainly divided into three parts: Part one, the main control circuit. Mainly includes the ARM9 minimum system. Part two, the data acquisition circuit. Mainly includes CLPD minimum system, level conversion circuit, and linear array CCD drive circuit. Part three, motor control circuit. Mainly includes the simulation method and the communication method of controlling the motor. Software part mainly includes the general design of system software design, Verilog HDL driving linear array CCD software design, the edge detection methods software design and the motor control methods software design.Finally, the paper test part of main performance of the system, mainly including the system of identification capability to all kinds of cloth, the edge detection ability to the running cloth and the deviation correction ability to the real time running cloth. Though the test data show that the system with high identification ability to clothe, high edge detection precision, fast edge detection speed, fast track speed, it is completely meet the demand of the actual factory, is better than that of similar products.
