During the production process of printing and dyeing enterprise, the traditional method ofconforming the pattern and color of printing and dyeing samples is repeatedly mailing the samplesbetween business and customers. However, this process will cost several months and dramaticallydecreases the production efficiency. In order to shorten the sample conforming period, this paperdesign and implement a remote interactive proofing system for printing and dyeing samples. Thesystem can realizes remote interactive operation by internet remote login between business andcustomers. The work of this paper are as follows:(1) Firstly the demands of the system are analyzed and then the function modules and databaseare designed and implemented.(2) In order to realize real-time remote interaction and modification of the samples’ pattern andcolor between business and customers, this paper studies the vectorization of textile image.Considering the feature of textile image and the actual demand of the printing and dyeing enterprise, the vectorization of textile image is applied to the remote proofing systems of printing and dyeingsamples. The system makes unbiasedness edge detection for the sample image, and then dilates anderodes the extracted edges by image morphology. Finally the image is locally vectorized and can beedited according to customer’s demand.(3) In the remote interactive proofing system, in order to achieve more realistic simulation ofthe samples, this paper reduces the display interference in different monitors by screen colorcorrection. The system has been applied to the actual production process of printing and dyeingenterprises. The interaction period has been greatly shortened between businesses and theircustomers and the value of the system is proved.
