Compilation,Reliability And Validity Of Chinese Version Scale Of Social Skill For Nursing

Objective In this study,Scale of Social Skill for N ursing has been compiled.The reliability and validity has been examined to explore its feasibility in the context o f Chinese nursing culture.And an effective assessment tool for assessing clinical nurses' social skills was provided.Methods Getting authorization of the original author of the scale,the Japanese version SSSN was translated into Chinese according to Beaton's Translation Model.547 clinical nurses from the General Hospital of N ingxia Medical Universitywere selected as research subjectsby the random number method.The general information of clinical nurses was described by frequency,percentage in statistical analysis by SPSS22.0.The item analysis methods included Pearson correlationand t-test.The reliability of scalewas evaluatedby Cronbach ? and test-retest reliability.The content validity was examined by the average scale-level content validity index.The criterion-related validity was assessed by social support and turnover intention.The construct validity of the scale was analyzed by the exploratory factor analysis and the correlation coefficient between each dimension and total score of the scale.Results1.The correlation coefficient between the entry-to-total scoreof the scaleis 0.35 to 0.72(>0.3,P<0.01);t-value is 7.78 to 16.71(>3,P<0.01).2.The Cronbach ? of the scale is 0.89,and 6 dimensions are 0.76 to 0.93.The retest reliability of the total scale is 0.83 and 6 dimensions is 0.77 to 0.83.3.The content validity index(S-CVI)of the Chinese version of clinical nurses' social skills scale(C-SSSN)is 0.87 and the items content validity(I-CVI)varied from 0.86 to 1.00.All dimensions and total scores of C-SSSN are positivecorrelations with social support(P<0.05),and negative correlations with turnover intentions(P<0.01).Exploratory factor analysis extracts 7 common factors and classifies them into 6 dimensions.The load of items in the common factors is 0.43 to 0.88 and the cumulative contribution rate is 60.38%.There is a positive correlation between dimensions and the total score of C-SSSN(P< 0.01).ConclusionThe C hinese Version Scale of Social Skill for Nursing has been proved to be reliable and valid,which can be appliedto evaluate clinical nurses' social skill.
