Reliability And Validity Of The Chinese Version Of Utrecht Scale For Evaluation Of Rehabilitation-Participation

Objective1. To introduce the Utrecht Scale for Evaluation of Rehabilitation—Participation(USER-P) developed by Marcel Post, and make a cultural adaptation in a Chinese context.2. To assess the validity and reliability of the adopted USER-P to be used in a Chinese version.Methods1. Get authorization to use the USER—P from the autuor, and then make a cultural and language translation2. After translating and revising theUSER-P,a total of 256 stroke patients were assessed with the Chinese Version of USER-P to evaluate its internal consistency, test-retest reliability, content validity, construct validity.Results1. ReliabilityThe internal consistency of the USER-Participation scale was between 0.704~0.861;the split reliability of the scale was 0.727~0.969; the test-rest reliability of the scale was0.734~0.832.2. ValidityContent validity was evaluated by Content Validity Index(CVI).The CVI of the each item was 0.83 to 1.0; The results of Participation Frequency’comfirmatory were: χ2=61.082,χ2 /df=1.607,GFI=0.960,AGFI=0.931,RMSEA=0.049,CFI=0.959,NFI =0.902;The results of Participation restrictions’ comfirmatory were: χ2=67.586,χ2 /df=1.572,GFI=0.951,AGFI=0.924,RMSEA=0.047,CFI=0.974,NFI=0.931; The results of Participation sa tisfaction’confirmatory were: χ2=60.114,χ2 /df=1.365,GFI=0.934,AGFI=0.939,RMSEA=0.080,CFI=0.929,NFI=0.941 implied the scale had good validity.ConclusionAfter scale metrological test, the Chinese-version Utrecht Scale for Evaluation ofRehabilitation-Participation can be applied in Chinese stroke patients and provide an effective evaluation instrument for Chinese stroke patients’ social participation programs.
