The Relevant Research Among Depression,Psychological Capital And Life Quality Of Community Elderly

Objective This study aimed to assess the present situation of depression,psychological capital and quality of life among the community elderly.To discuss the relationship among depression,psychological capital and quality of life,which would provide a scientific basis for community care and the health education of elderly in community.Finally,achieved the purpose of good health in the elderly.Methods This study used the method of convenience sampling in stages,were selected eligible community as the research object in the elderly.in Nanjing,Yancheng and Xuzhou in Jiangsu Province.A cross-sectional survey was carried out in March to June 2015 by using general information questionnaire,the Center for Epidemiological Studies Depression Scale(CES-D),the old psychological capital scale and quality of life scale(SF-12).Then,the general data analysis,the pearson correlation,Multiple Liner Regression Analysis and Structural Equation Modeling(SEM)were applied to analyze the data.Results1.The depression and the psychological capital in the effects of various demographic data: Different age,gender,spouse,culture degree,income,living conditions,physical exercise,communicate with their children ofcommunity elderly depression scale score difference was statistically significant(p<0.05).2.The quality of life in the effects of various demographic data: Different age,gender,spouse,culture degree,income,living conditions,physical exercise of community elderly quality of life scale score difference was statistically significant(p<0.05).3.The community elderly quality of life was significantly and positive related to the four subscales of the psychological capital(p<0.01),but negative related to the four subscales of depression(p<0.01).The four subscales of the psychological capital negative related to the four subscales of depression.4.The four subscales of depression,the four subscales of psychological capital and age were identified as significant directed predictors of quality of life.5.According to the structural path model,depression had significant direct effect on psychological capital(?1=-0.74,P=0.00)and quality of life(?2=-0.21,P=0.00),psychological capital had significant direct effect on quality of life(?3=0.86,P=0.00).Moreover,there still was significant indirect effect(?4=-0.64,P=0.00)of depression on quality of life through psychological capital as mediator.Conclusions1.There was remarkable correlation among the score of depression,psychological capital and quality of life.Depression of the psychological capital and quality of life was siginificantly negative prediction function;Psychological capital of the quality of life was siginificantly positive prediction function.2.Age,depression and psychological capital were significant directed predictors of quality of life.3.The psychological capital as an intervening variable function on depression and quality of life.4.The community nursing staff and relevant departments at the grass-roots level could through this result to improve the psychological capital and health condition of the elderly.
