The Study On Older People's Quality Of Life Who Live In Organizations For The Aged In Beijing City

In this study, we research the present condition and influential factors of quality of life in ageing people in order to supply scientific bases and important reference for relative departments establishing and promoting healthy policy about providing for the aged. Questionnaire research were used to measure quality of life in 299 older people who live in various organizations providing for the aged in Beijing city, including general population information, form of activity of daily life (ADL) and questionnaire for healthy condition(SF-36). The results are dealed with statistic analysis and relative factors affecting quality of life are analysed. In this survey, we find that the average age of older people who live in various organizations providing for the aged in Beijing city with better economical condition are widely higher for 92.6% of all being older than 70. The widowed are over 70% and about 86.6% of all have various chronic diseases. The average score of quality of life in these people is 77.63 ± 14.79. Compared with other cities in China, such as Xian, Jinan, Suzhou et al, and American routine model, our data show that aged people in this research have higher quality of life. The statistic multiple regression displays that there are many remarkable factors that influence quality of life on aged people , including ability to take care of oneself, chronic disease, metier, family income and so on.To sum up, our research reveals that social departments and organizations should set down measures in detail according to these factors and actual conditions which influence the quality of life on older people in organizations providing for the aged in Beijing city, and then comprehensively improve the quality of life of older people in the future.
