Study On The Risk Management In Highway Project

Since the financial crisis,the construction of expressway has been widely concerned by different parties resulting that the expressway project entered a stage of rapid development.Due to the large amount of highway projects,the need for long-term construction and substantial investment is urgent.The highway construction may encounter a variety of unexpected factors,which can easily lead to the risk of the project construction process and harm the smooth development of the project.Therefore,we must pay attention to the risk management process in highway project construction and correctly face the risks in the whole life cycle of the expressway project through risk identification and measurement work.This thesis clarified the system framework of highway project risk management.This thesis first analyzed the characteristics of the expressway project and its risk characteristics.And then,the thesis discussed the process of highway project risk identification in detail and introduced the relevant analysis method as well as different project risk decomposition methods according to the project characteristics.Secondly,this thesis argued that risk measurement must be considered after risk identification.Thus,qualitative and quantitative method in risk measurement process was introduced then.In addition,the thesis developed some effective approach to help project success combined above research with the characteristics of the highway.Finally,the thesis chose the analytic hierarchy process(AHP)as the method to do the risk measurement of Shenhai expressway project.The risk in the process of project implementation was decomposed in different ways.The thesis gave the corresponding risk management measures according to the risk measurement results combined with the actual situation of the project.This thesis aims at enriching the theoretical system of risk management.It is suggested that managers should strengthen the awareness of risk management and improve their ability to manage risks in the process of project construction.As a result,we can reduce the harm caused by failure of expressway project,thus promoting the healthy development of highway projects in China.
