Grassland resource is an important renewable natural resources.It also has a direct and impact significantly on the production of human activities.But with the climate change and environmental pollution,the impact of population increase and other factors,grassland resources is continuous degradation,facing more and more problems.This research uses the related data,finally the grassland biomass estimation models are established.With this model,the aboveground grassland biomass is inverting,then analyzes the change trend of it.Then the research uses the model of ecological footprint to evaluate the ecological carrying capacity and at last analyzes the correlation about biomass and the various indexes in ecological carrying capacity.The main conclusions are as follows:This result shows that there is a very strong correlation between actual measuring aboveground biomass and MODIS vegetation index in study area,the highest correlation coefficient is three times polynomial fitting model is created based on the NDVI(r =0.87,RSME=23.58g/m2).The inversion on the aboveground biomass showed there is no dramatic changes in grassland area of Urumqi 2011~2015,but in recent five years,the trend of grassland biomass change is not stable.Further research on the current situation of grassland resource in the Urumqi area,is to evaluate the current state whether the state can meet the needs of sustainable development in the region.The results showed that during 2005~2014,the grassland ecological footprint is reduced from 0.420901hm2 to 0.420635hm2,there is a slight decrease trend;the grassland contributed most of the ecological carrying capacity,the grassland resource carrying capacity decreased to 0.165538 hm2 from 0.207484 hm2.The region is in a state of ecological deficit,It's unsustainable development.Based on the research of biomass and ecology carrying capacity,the correlation between them is analyzed.Research shows that the correlation between the biomass and the grassland ecology carrying capacity is in a very obvious positive correlation,the correlation coefficient is 0.51.
