Enterprise middle managers are responsible for the implementation of the strategy of the enterprise and the management of daily affairs, pharmaceutical enterprise as manpower intensive enterprise, the comprehensive quality of middle managers is critical, a direct impact on enterprise strategy execution status and the status of the enterprise’s daily management. This article take the behavioral event interview method, questionnaire survey method, mathematical statistics method, group counseling method and the way to choose hainan area pharmaceutical enterprise middle managers as the research object, to build a pharmaceutical enterprise competency characteristic model of middle managers. First of all, this article selects 5 listed pharmaceutical companies of 30 middle managers (15) of outstanding and general,2 senior managers, two first-line managers as interview object, were extracted from the multiple perspectives for the competence of the original index, and according to the onion model to build the foundation of the middle managers preliminary five dimensions of the original competency characteristic model; Secondly, after establishing the competency characteristics on the basis of measurement and measurement item do forecast analysis of the questionnaire, the questionnaire of recycling the reliability, exploratory factor analysis, and eliminate some of the competence features, finally to determine the formal 16 characteristics of the competency model, and formed the formal questionnaire, the 16 features are: information gathering, policy and industry analysis, breakthrough self, professional skills, overall planning, training, organization planning, processing of human relationships, self-confidence, innovation learning, social and customer public relations, ethics, integrity, optimistic positive, leadership and a desire for success; Finally, on the basis of the formal questionnaire survey again, according to the questionnaire data statistics, do to the questionnaire reliability and validity, principal component analysis, and has made the degree of differentiation to the distinction between the sample standard testing, verify the rationality and stability of the model.And based on the basis of structural equation model to get the middle manager competency model 5 dimensions, weight coefficient of knowledge, skills, leadership, communication skills, achievement orientation, the weight of personality are respectively 0.30,0.10,0.37,0.29,0.12. At the same time, also this paper makes analysis of the future research prospects in the future for the competency model building research can from the following three aspects:research on the model is a long-term dynamic process, follow up constantly perfect; For the performance of sample classification of the general performance and good to use more comprehensive evaluation index and evaluation system, to reduce artificial factors in the process of evaluation; On the same area, the same position in the same industry enterprises of different nature to explore the competency characteristics between the two models and indicators for analysis of the differences.
