Constant development and expansion of the construction market making the expectation of construction project more and more great. For the projects of complex process and large scale, people tend to adopt the building mode of concurrent phase of design and construction. The reasonable joint of design phase with construction phase can save the project duration, but it makes the investment control harder and causes the investment out of control, which will cause a serious loss of national economy and the construction. Therefore, the further study of investment control of project considering concurrent phase of design and construction has became an urgent problem to be solved.As one of the three objectives of projects, investment is the research focus for project managers. The traditional project management model has not a very good solution to control investment of the project considering concurrent phase of design and construction, so how to integrate the design with construction effectively through the flexible application of concurrent engineering project management mode is an important part of the project investment control.The research object was defined firstly on the basis of analysis of the feature of project considering concurrent phase of design and construction. Then current modes of project management were analyzed and the concurrent engineering project management mode was proposed. At the same time, the definition, framework established and application advantages of the concurrent engineering project management mode were analyzed and studies so that the idea and concept of it can be used fully in the management of project considering concurrent phase of design and construction. In order to establish the project management mode considering D&C, the occurrence conditions, implementation model and characteristics of the project considering concurrent phase of design and construction should be analyzed systematically, and distinguishing it with other kinds of projects was necessary. Then on the basis of above study, the project management mode considering D&C was established. Next specific analysis of investment management was done from investment structure, investment control principle, investment control characteristic and influence factors so that the investment control system was established. Secondly focusing on rework type of iteration and project investment risk, the paper carried on systematic analysis. For the rework type of iteration, the paper developed a simulation model based on DSM and formulation for probability of rework to quantify the amount of rework due to iteration of project considering concurrent phase of design and construction, respectively from sequential tasks and coupled tasks. It can utilize early estimated information effectively to strengthen the project investment control work. For the project risk, the risk identification system based on work breakdown structure and risk breakdown structure was developed focusing on the parallelism of project considering concurrent phase of design and construction. The system carried on qualitative and quantitative analysis about the risk factors affecting the investment of project. Then combing AHP with Grey Relational Analysis, project investment risk analysis and evaluation system was developed to calculator the weight of identified risks and sort them. The influence degree and correlation degree about the investment risk was analysis systematically to provide technical support for the investment control of project management.
