Discussion On The Development Of Family Farms In Henan Province

With the rapid development of China economy, the advanced agriculture technology hasput forward some new requests for China’s agricultural development and drawbacks of theHousehold contract responsibility system are becoming more obvious. Family farm hasbecome one of the important forms to promote the development of agriculture and rural area,which shows great advantages in the production of agriculture at present. The productivity hasbeen greatly improved due to the moderate size and intense operation, which leads tolarge-scale production and marketing, the improvement of economic benefits and the increaseof income for farmers. Unlike the previous Household contract responsibility system, familyfarm is large-scale land production and operation. This form of organization based onmodest operation facilitates can be easily planned and adjusted, which gets rid of the shacklesof the household contract,shows strong vitality and meets the requirements of modernagricultural development in Henan Province. It will also be the main form of agriculturalproduction and operation in Henan.Although we have made some achievements in the development of family farms inHenan Province, the formal and standard family farms are sill very few. There are still manyobstacles for the development of family farms, such as the vague understanding of familyfarms, the unified standard of family farms, lacking of production funds, the poorcomprehensive quality of family farmers and the imperfection of the social service system.In this paper, I regard development issues of the family farms in Henan province aspreliminary research object. First, I try to fully understand the basic meaning of family farmsand related concepts by studying the dynamics of family farms at home and abroad. Then Isummary the development status of family farms in Henan Province through an investigationof country-level family farms in Henan by using field survey methods. Next I combinedquantitative analysis with qualitative analysis, summary the major obstacles in thedevelopment of family farms in Henan Province, combined with the development of familyfarms overseas experience, Finally I put forward some corresponding countermeasures andsuggestions.
