A Research On The Relationship Between Narcissism And Self-presentation In Moments Of We Chat

In information society,smart devices has become an essential itool for everyone.Scientific technologies change quickly and the updating for products become so fast,personal information consumption patterns are constantly changing.Facebook was born in 2004,after the social networking sites began more and more.The We Chat turned out in 2011, rapid development has become one of the most popular IM in China.According to the newest We Chat user data reports,more and more We Chat users are growing,the number of We Chat active daily users reached 570 million,its activity continue to grow compared with Weibo.We Chat is based on "Strong Ties" social platform,the Moments is one of important function.Users can publish text, pictures,videos, links and other information in Moments, Moments become the user’s performance field.From the report to know 60% of We Chat users between 15-29 years,post on Moments has become more and more popular.Just as the We Chat slogan:We Chat is a way of life.Jean and Kense said: " humans are facing a narcissistic pandemic." The consumption pattern of the contemporary society is just like what Jean Baudrillard has described : To please themselves by empty and large numbers of symbols.Becasue individualism and the ethics of consumption interacts each other, so accelerate the spread of narcissism in modern society. When individuals are unable to the desire of consumption to take other ways to satisfy yourself.Such as excessive exposure and get more attention.Through the evaluation and pursuit of others to perceive own existence. In the social media age,the virtual network breaks the limitation of time and space.Private life through the fragmentation of information, pictures,video and symbolic expression and so on,just like picture displayed on the network. By observing of the virtual social network which the youth more and more show themselves. And the resulting of self-knowledge to dislocation and broken in cyberspace and thereal world.Consequently its an important influence on the psychological developm-ent of young people and the advantages and disadvantages of the whole social structure.To determines the research questions and contents of this paper after the theory about narcissism,moments of We Chat and self-presentation have been researched. The research center is narcissism and research object are college students.In order to explore the narcissism if not incentive to encourage users to perform in the Moments,and the level of narcissism and Moments of self-presentation tactics and tendency of content relationships. In the first part of the paper, by using the method of questionnaire investigation on college students of narcissism, behavior in Moments, self-presentation strategies were measured. In conclusion, the level of narcissism is proportional to the frequency of Moments using, level of narcissism and the user’s personal avatar is updated and released their pictures in the frequency, friends of the number showed a significant positive correlation; in the circle of friends narcissists in order to maintain their own image of the tendency to adopt the positive ideal self presentation tactics. In the second part selected samples of high levels of narcissism in the questionnaire to analyze the content of Moments in We Chat,in order to in-depth understanding of narcissist in the self-presentation, and extraction of individual samples were in-depth interviews.In result that college students with high level of narcissism in the Moments in self exposure behaviors rather than sharing behavior, since I present is highly self-centered and tendency to privacy and physical exposure.According to the results of the research on narcissism in the social media extension proposed the author’s worries,the network in the "social" is the intention, be tools of alienation as the self performing stage, excessive self attention causes the narcissism epidemic in the community, college polarization thinking to embrace a group the outbreak may will result in the absence of the sense of self and lost, resulting in personal and social connections are broken, is not conducive to establish the correct social value.
