This paper mainly aims at the research of the narrow band and the low efficiency of the antenna of the handheld mobile communication products. In recent years, With the improvement of people’s quality of life and the progress of modern wireless communication technology, the research and application of microstrip patch antenna has attracted much attention and many numerical analysis method has also been applied to the field of communication. Modern wireless communication system for communication antenna is proposed taking into account the wide frequency band, small volume, radiation with high efficiency, low production cost and the like are more demanding requirements, which requires us to have more effective analysis of antenna performance parameters. While handheld communications systems are mostly performed GSM and DCS dual standard, its working band focused on the 880MHz~960MHz and 1710MHz~1880MHz bands. This means that the antenna of the mobile communication system should have the characteristics of double frequency bands., but also to ensure that the operating frequency range with a stable bandwidth, low VSWR, as well as a good impedance matching performance. As one of the important parts of the hand held mobile communication system, the performance of the antenna directly affects the communication performance of the whole communication system and the design of the handheld device.The difficulties above the antenna is proposed for the mobile, This paper presents the application of the finite difference time domain method(FDTD) to analyze and study the performance parameters of microstrip patch antenna., and put forward a wideband, miniaturization and high gain characteristics of elliptical microstrip patch antenna. In the design process, This paper take the loading parasitic patch and the cutting angle measures, and analyzed the influence of the shape and size of the medium in size, parasitic patch size, oval radiator size and other parameters on the performance of the antenna.. Finally, the compromise of the antenna is optimized, and the performance requirements of the modern mobile communication antenna are realized.Based on the basic theory and method of FDTD method principle and mobile communication antenna design, this paper presents on a lot of measures to improve the performance of the antenna, introduces the Mur and perfect matched layer(PML) two kinds of absorbing boundary conditions for the application characteristics, scientifically selected antenna performance parameters, analyzing the influence of excitation source form, feed method and the mesh size on the antenna performance calculation, and the introduction of HFSS simulation software of antenna is further improved and a series of optimization and compared using the FDTD method and the finite element method calculation and Analysis on the antenna performance accuracy, at last, the paper introduces the application of the antenna in the library management work.
