In this paper, the finite difference time-domain (FDTD) method is used for mobilecommunication antenna research and design work.Research and Application of planar monopoleantenna has been receiving more and more attention. The mobile communication system isproposed taking into account the wide-band, miniaturization, radiation efficiency requirements ofantennas. Traditional monopole antenna there has disadvantage of narrow bandwidth and lowerfrequencies in physical limitation, limiting the engineering application of monopole antenna.Coexistence of GSM and DCS system applys a double standard. With providing analog and digitalservices in the same network, the corresponding dual-band antenna should be able to work theband (824~960MHz and1.71~1.88GHz). To radiate out signal energy within the bandeffectively, input impedance must be consistent to ensure constant pulse characteristics, which it isvery difficult to achieve.Because cell phone antenna design for today is difficult and hot, and we design a microstripmonopole antenna having broadband and miniaturization characteristics, in order tominiaturization and extend the operating bandwidth of the antenna, the antenna has takenmeasures such as loading the top of metal disc and slotting parasitic patches and so on. Withanalysis of the width in the groove, loaded disc, sleeve impact, medium rectangle size and otherparameters on the antenna performance, while with a voltage source to feed and a Gaussian pulseto provide energy, the planar monopole antenna has been designed and fabricated within a mobilecommunication band. The phone’s internal antenna for mobile communication is very wide, whichworks on824~960MHz and1.71~1.88GHz dual-band.Based on the previous design monopole antenna problem, FDTD method and the basictheory for mobile communication antenna design. Firstly, fundamental Principle of FDTD andbasic knowledge of Mobile Communication Antenna design are introduced in this paper, then discusses described antenna parameters of the FDTD method. Secondly, paper introduced HFSSelectromagnetic simulation software, presents the basic knowledge and design process of HFSS.On the basis, this paper presents research and design work of planar monopole antenna. Thesimulation program through FDTD analysis of antenna will directly affect the accuracy andefficiency of the antenna simulation design. Based on FDTD principle, we can use MATLABstatements to finish visual analysis. Compared with the HFSS simulation results, we find that theantenna processes more optimized frequency bandwidth, and more specific interpretation ofthree-dimensional output model could be got. The study about FDTD code for planar monopoleantenna design is relatively small, so that it will become an important research direction.
