With the rapid development of wireless communication technology,the application of microstrip antenna is more and more extensive,microstrip array antenna with its unique directional characteristics,in the field of wireless communications and military has been more and more widely used.In this paper,the design of the microstrip antenna with 2.45 GHz rectangular microstrip patch and the HFSS simulation are taken as the research object.The process of designing the microstrip antenna by HFSS is analyzed,and the characteristics of the microstrip antenna are analyzed.The main contents are as follows:Firstly,the basic theory of the antenna and the calculation method of the array direction factor are introduced.The structure and main performance parameters of the antenna are described in detail,including impedance parameters,radiation parameters,conversion efficiency and polarization parameters.On this basis,the pattern factor of the binary array is calculated,and the pattern feature of the uniform linear array is deduced.Secondly,this paper discusses the structure and radiation mechanism of microstrip antenna,and analyzes three theoretical models of microstrip antenna:microstrip line model,cavity model and full wave model.Taking HFSS high frequency structure simulator as an example,the calculation method of full wave model is described,and the simulation model of microstrip antenna is established by HFSS.Finally,this paper studies the theory and method of designing the microstrip antenna array with HFSS in detail.According to the empirical formula,the relative dielectric constant and thickness parameters of the dielectric substrate and the width and length of the patch in the rectangular microstrip antenna are determined step by step.Antenna impedance characteristics,radiation characteristics.Using ADSsimulation software,the impedance matching of the antenna,simulation of a single microstrip antenna parameters.Through the expansion mode,the binary and quaternary array antennas are obtained respectively.The antenna characteristics and radiation characteristics of the array antenna are simulated by HFSS.The array antenna is matched by ADS.Finally,by comparing the radiation characteristics of a single antenna,binary and quaternary array antenna,the direction and gain of the antenna are studied.
