With the deep-going development of the Shenglichengdao offshore oilfield exploration, the existing No. 1 and No. 2 central platform couldn’t meet the demand to process the newly constructed capacity in terms of the power supply capacity, transmission capacity, water treatment and water injection. Thus, it is imperative to construct a No.3 central platform and simultaneously adjust the built gathering pipeline, water injection pipe network and distribution network reasonably in order to meet the needs of the old adjustment and adapt to the future development of island offshore.The No.3 central platform is the third comprehensive central platform in Chengdao crude subject area which has the functions including the treatment of oil, gas and water, water injection, power supply, self-controlling, communication, living conditions and so on. Because of the large number of equipment and complex process of the No.3 central platform, in order to reduce the labor intensity of the platform workers, improve the labor productivity and ensure personnel safety, it calls for higher requirement of the automation control of the No.3 central platform.This paper firstly analyses the No.3 central platform of Chengdao automation control system. On the base of the analysis it clarifies the requirement of the automatic control system and the technological process of the central platform as well as the satellite platform. According to the requirements of the system, the overall structure of the control system is designed, configurating the PC monitor system, PLC control system, PLC system and wireless communication system for satellite platform. Then according to the needs of the system, the PLC hardware, system software and the network system model are selected. After researching the data acquisition and control method of the system, the software is designed to achieve the function of the system by programming to adjust the liquid level and pressure within the system.In addition, this paper aims to design the monitoring system based on Experion PKS to test the system functions on the spot, carry out the detection, controlling, operation, data, images, reporting forms, alarm of the various signals from the system as well as the function of network communication.
