The test data of the water resources materials is an important criterion to estimate the quality of the water project. In order to guarantee the fairness, accuracy of the test data and rule out the human intervention and error, an advanced automatic measurement system for water resources materials is designed. The proposed system utilizes the network technology to regularly aggregate the test data. The test data is summarized and analyzed to make sure that the superior water resources materials quality supervision department of the station can view the test data or the related test information at any time. Furthermore, the quality of the water resources project is timely supervised. The data acquisition section and the data management section of the automatic measurement system for water resources materials are studied in this paper. First, using the automatic technology on the data acquision, the testing capacity and automation degree of the data acquisition module are inhanced. By studying the steel-based mechanical properties test, the data acquisition system is greatly improved. Second, the ethernet communication technology and the TCP/IP protocols are applied to the embedded ethernet systems. The embedded Ethernet system with low-cost, high performance, flexible configuration and powerful embedded gateway is developed. Finally, the ADO.NET database access technology is used to design the data acquisition management system for water resources materials. The proposed system has been widly used in Nanjing Water Resources Materials Inspection Center. It has brought a certain amount of social and economic benefits.
