With the developing of social civilization and population, the demand for food and vegetables is growing, but the traditional planting can not meet the demanding, so the greenhouse cultivation is very necessary. The temperature, the humidity, the CO2 concentration, the natural factors such as light intensity on the growth of crops plays a vital role in greenhouse cultivation. Traditional environmental monitoring methods are all manual work, and it is not only time wasting but also laborious, but the real time is weak. There are some monitoring methods which use cable, but there are difficulties in decorating installing and maintaining. This paper aims at the shortcomings of traditional greenhouse monitoring mode and the shortage of the existing monitoring ways, combined with the current emerging ZigBee technology, Studies and implements a environmental monitoring system based on wireless sensor network technology.Firstly, it narrates development status of greenhouse environment monitoring, analyzes the advantages and disadvantages of the current mainstream solutions. Analysis the requirement of system overall framework composed.The system is divided into hardware design and software design.Secondly, we have designed and implemented the system hardware and Software part, using ZigBee network communication technology to implement wireless. And the temperature, humidity, light intensity and fire alarm sensor circuit design is completed. And the real-time monitoring on greenhouse environment is emplemented.Mainly uses the knowledge of MFC, SQL Server and multithreading to Complete system PC software design to achieve control on multiple sensors, data reception data management and Real-time display is discussed.Lastly, the whole system is tested experimetally. Realized multi-node network communication, and testing each sensor’s sensitivity and performance. To complete the whole testing and debugging of the system, the greenhouse environment monitoring system based on ZigBee is scientific and feasible Proved.We designed this system can monitor the temperature, the humidity, the light and fire alarm efficient and accurately. It achieves the intelligent management by using PC software integration. It not only improving the efficiency of management but also providing convenience for system maintenance.
