The temperature and humidity are closely related to people’s daily life, agriculturalcultivation and industrial production. Changes in temperature and humidity will affect thequality of things. We should always be concerned about the changes in the environment,only under the appropriate temperature and humidity;We have better survival and greaterefficiency. Therefore, it is particularly important to monitor temperature and humidity. Thetraditional monitoring systems are based on RS485or CAN bus to transmit data.There arecomplex and difficult line wiring, high cost, low reliability, which is not conductive to thecentralized management. Furthermore, like the temperature, the humidity sensor of suchdevices does not require a lot of transmission rate and power. The Zigbee technology hasthe advantages of low-cost, low-power, low transmission rate, no wiring. We can increaseor decrease and mobile sensor acquisition nodes according to the actual needs. It is flexibleand convenient to use. Therefore, we use Zigbee technology to design temperature andhumidity monitoring system. We can also do some improvement to add more sensors andmore features of the sensor network, which has high scalability and broad market prospects.In this paper, we do research on the temperature and humidity system based on Zigbee andmainly does the following work.(1) The introduction part of this article introduces the research background andoverview of the wireless sensor network and then introduces the research status at homeand abroad on the WSN. Internet of things is in the initial stages of development on aglobal scale. The technology development and industrial applications have broad prospectsand a rare opportunity.(2) Then introduces the IEEE802.15.4standard and Zigbee standard, including theZigbee technical parameters and advantages; three network topologies: the star network,tree network and mesh network. Also details the functions of Zigbee protocol stack layers.(3) This section designs the hardware part of the system of wireless sensor nodes.According to the modular design principles, we design three parts of the motherboard,backboard and the sensor board. The Zigbee standard CC2430RF chip and SHT10sensor are used to design and implement the data acquisition and transmission of temperature andhumidity.(4) The forth part designs the software part of the system for wireless sensor nodesand the work flow chart of coordinator, router and terminal nodes. It uses the Z-Stackprotocol of TI Company under IAR development environment to write the codes in a treenetwork and establish a wireless sensor network. Coordinator through the RS232serial portto communicate with the PC. Then the wireless data is transmitted and monitored.(5) In order to meet the low power requirements of the system, we make the terminalnode sleep to reduce power consumption. This paper introduces the tree algorithm in detailsand its improvement which shortens the node-to-node transmission distance, reducessystem power consumption and extends the life cycle of nodes.(6) Finally, a summary and outlook on future are proposed in this article.
