Recently, with the rapid development of wireless sensor networks, and people's higherrequirements for environmental monitoring, more and more enterprises and organizations dedicatedto wireless sensor networks which used in environmental monitoring systems. By deploying a largenumber of low-cost micro sensor nodes in the monitoring area, nodes formed a wirelesscommunication network system; the system implements the monitoring of environmentalinformation.This paper presents a proposal of the wireless sensor networks node which is used forenvironment, temperature, humidity, illumination and image information monitoring. Nodes canaccess 802.11b/g networks by Wi-Fi and complete the wireless communication with themanagement node. Under this proposal, the paper analyzed the hardware and software requirementsof the node. Based on the analysis this paper selected Nano WiReach as the wirelesscommunications module, ATmega128L as the processor, SHT10 as temperature and humiditysensors, TSL2561 as light intensity sensor, serial camera as image sensor. PCB plan is drawn andthe node's hardware platform is built according to the using principle of each device. On thishardware platform, this paper defined its own communication protocol between wireless sensornetworks node and management node; and achieved collecting temperature, humidity, illuminationand image features by software.Finally, the paper built a monitoring platform which is used in conjunction with the nodes, andhas prepared monitoring platform software. The monitoring software platform has visually verifiedthat the wireless sensor networks node could monitor the environmental temperature, humidity,illumination and image information correctly.
