With the development of science and technology, and also the progressive developing of information network, the network teaching system has been the extensive application in many colleges. Network teaching system takes full advantages of the various functions and abundant resources of network education, providing educator and learner with web-based surrounding, and transmitting the teaching content with digital technology. The success of both the domestic and international network teaching system provides useful experience for us to promote and carry out network teaching system,from which we can find a very good development prospect and significance in the application of network teaching system in colleges.There are six major parts of this research. Firstly, it analyzes both the domestic and foreign research on the Moodle network learning system, as well as the meaning of using network teaching in Colleges. Secondly,the author sort out and integrate the theory of Moodle teaching system, and introduce the concept of the network learning system and the function of Moodle. Through field investigation and interview on teachers and students in the Institute, the Moodle network teaching system has analyzed the function of the service, the system and also the requirement of administrators, teachers and students by using UML technology in detail.Focus on the issue of the requirement analysis on graphic design course research in the high vocational college, this system, which based on the mature B/S structure model, design the key functional module concluding the administrator, teachers and students by using the open source LAMP framework as a tool to develop environment.The author also design the content, the resources and activities of basic example teaching course of graphic design.Through the system requirements analysis and system design, the author successfully build the Moodle based network teaching system and implement the practical example of Higher Vocational graphic design basic network courses. In the late stage, using quantitative research method, the Moodle network teaching system is applied to the experimental group in higher vocational colleges. The system is used to make a systematic application of the teaching program, and compared to the control group of students who did not use the teaching system. Furthermore, the author sums up and analyzes the results of the pre-measure and after-measure by using SPPS data manager software.The results show that by using the teaching method of Moodle network teaching system, the students are more interested in the learning course and likely take active part in teaching activities. It not only elaborates students function as subjects, but also improves both students’ learning and teachers’ teaching through both teachers’ leading and students’ supervision.Finally, the author also summarizes the advanced, limitations and future research directions of the Moodle network teaching system.
