In recent years, with the wide application of network teaching platform in Colleges and universities, teaching quality and the teaching effect are improved obviously. Compared with the ordinary colleges and universities, independent colleges take the initiation to adapt to the demand of the society, pay attention to their own school characteristics, have their own needs in the informatization construction. However, independent college’s set-up is relatively late, which is lack of construction funds, and it’s teachers strength is relatively weak. Meanwhile, the relative lack of teaching resources and other problems restricts the informatization development of independent college. At present, the use of open source software to reduce the informatization construction funds is a common practice, therefore, the open source Moodle has become a network teaching platform in all kinds of educational institutions,and become a personal favorite teaching platform. Using this platform can quickly establish the network teaching platform for individuals and groups, and the basis of teachers teaching practice, curriculum arrangement and teaching characteristics of creative teaching meaningful activities. On the one hand teachers only need to master the simple method of operation, then it could achieve realization of self design and self use without any computer knowledge, which could effectively mobilize the enthusiasm of students’ learning. On the other hand, it could truly realize the teaching effectiveness. Using the open source Moodle can save to buy commercial teaching software with expensive software costs, and allows teachers to free ourselves from the write complicated code. Therefore, based on the above reasons, the network teaching platform is the main concern of this paper, in which it introduces how to use the open source Moodle platform to design the Oxbridge College of Kunming University of Science and Technology, and the audience the most basic subject "information processing technology foundation" as an example, the network teaching platform to build the course, in order to improve the enthusiasm of students and the teaching effect, and to promote the independent college implementation informatization construction further. This paper mainly introduces the research background&significance, and the research purpose, then analyzes the Moodle research status at home country and abroad. According to the institute of technology curriculum situation and the problems of information processing, which I am working for, the network teaching platform is designed for the Oxbridge College of Kunming University of Science and Technology. It foucuses on network teaching platform of the system requirements analysis, including the overall function demand analysis, the function of administrators’(teachers&students) needs. Based on the demands analysis, the structure of the system design mainly includes the concept design and logical design of database module design, teacher administrator function module design and function module design for students. Finally, to realize the function of each part of the system according to the functional design, it will cover system installation deployment, parameter setting, interface style settings, creating user and permission settings, creating courses, teaching resources, teaching activities and so on. Moreover it will combine with cross-sectional diagram to illustrate the corresponding system construction, allowing readers to stick out a mile. Finally, The paper makes a summary and discusses a future research direction.
