With the rapid development of China’s industrialization, the natural ecological environment has been seriously damaged, and the environmental protection work is becoming more and more important. The emissions of sulfur dioxide and nitrogen oxides and other greenhouse gases, such as sulfur dioxide and nitrogen oxides, which are caused by thermal power plants in the power industry are increasing. The geographical location of the automatic monitoring points is scattered, and the condition is very bad. The traditional method is very inconvenient and inefficient. In order to adapt to the development of society and protect the surrounding environment of thermal power plant, it is imperative to carry out environmental automatic monitoring for thermal power plant. In this paper, the thermal power plant environmental automatic monitoring system is a set of online automatic analysis instrument as the core, in power plant environment, using modern sensor technology, automatic measurement technology, automatic control technology, computer application technology and related special analysis software and communication network consisting of a comprehensive on-line automatic monitoring system. The main work of this paper is as followsFirst introduced the method and principle of automatic environmental monitoring system, including continuous air monitoring, water pollution monitoring, noise monitoring, stationary pollution source of flue gas monitoring etc.; analysis of the thermal power plant environment automatic monitoring system function demand and performance demand, using the GPRS network to realize the function of networks.Secondly according to the function demand and performance demand of the system for the detailed design, including the system overall structure, the quality of air continuous monitoring, flue gas of stationary pollution sources automatic monitoring, water quality automatic monitoring, noise online subsystem, video monitoring, monitoring center and GPRS terminal and the database design.Finally, the communication module, the database module, the main interface module and the key interface protocol are designed and implemented. The design results are applied to the practical cases, and the function and performance of the system are tested. The test results show that the system can be applied to the automatic monitoring of thermal power plant.Although the system is designed for the automatic monitoring of thermal power plant environment, but also can be based on the actual needs of the system will be easily transplanted to other areas of application. The system has been used in a thermal power plant. Usage shows that this system has a friendly user interface, has a strong online help function, easy to learn, easy to operate, good fault tolerance, system security and reliability.
