| Terrestrial communications systems based on Long Term Evolution(LTE)have the advantages of both high spectrum utilization and high data transmission rate.Meanwhile the satellite communication system can provide a wide range of seamless continuous coverage. Therefore, the research on the demonstration system of converged satellite and terrestrial networks has some innovative sense and practical prospect.Supported by the project, the test and simulation of next generation converged satellite and terrestrial broadband communication networks, this dissertation introduces the components of a satellite communication system, the architecture and protocol stacks of the evolved packet system(EPS),as well as the GPRS tunnelling protocol(GTP).Combined with the functional requirements of the demonstration system for the converged satellite and terrestrial network, this thesis performs the design of its network element and protocol stacks. It also presents three schemes of the possible simulation implementation for the switch module of a teleport, and compares their performance.GTP is an important data transfer protocol in the switch module of a teleport, therefore, this dissertation gives a prototype implementation scheme of GTP,and accomplishes the module design of its control plane&user plane. The implementation of modules includes the request and response of each PDP context’s creation,PDP context’s deletion, path detection. It also includes the upward and downward data transmission, and the allocation and release of IP address. The GTP prototype implementation is verified by programming C in Linux environment. Finally, the summary of whole dissertation is given and the issues to be researched further are also proposed. |
