Research On The Construction Of Makerspaces Of China’s University Libraries Under The Environment Of "Internet Plus" Era

With the coming of the Internet Age, Internet Technology and Information Technology are developing at high speed.One on hand, it brings to readers diversity of the approaches and ways of information acquisition, which poses threat to university libraries that mainly provide traditional document borrowing services.On the other hand, as centres of document resources of each university, it is difficultfor university libraries to figure out how to creatively play roles of talents cultivation, scientific research, social service and culture transmission and so on at the same time.As one-stop service platforms, university library makerspaces are not only readers’self-study centres but also their communication and knowledge innovation centres.On the basis of their spatial layouts and service contents, they are characterized as user-centred, hands-on productive, communicative, and knowledge innovative.Not only can they meet readers’diversified requirements of information, but also they can benefit university libraries’talents cultivation and scientific research, therefore improving the services, enhancing competitivenesses, boosting sustainabledevelopments and at the same time making contributions to China’s innovation based on talents cultivation.Firstly, this paper briefly introduce the concept of Innovation 2.0, InternetPlus, Maker and Makerspace; and studing on the characteristics and classification of Makerspaces, then making in-depth analysis on the role of Makerspaces to University Library.At the basis of these theories, makes a lot of investigation and comparative analysis of both research status and the actual development situation of Makerspacein domestic and internation libraries respectively.Based on these successful experience and results, the paper summarizes the ideas, goals, principles and methods about how to constuct Chinese University Libraries Makerspaces.Then it gives a comprehensive proposal to create this libraris’space including designing the space of Makerspaces and providing service system andservice support mechanisms.Finally, the dissertation analysis the current problems of China University Library Makerspaces and gives some constructive suggestions.
