In the mechanism of knowledge-based economy operation, the library is an intermediary of a national innovation system. Library is inseparable from education, knowledge development and knowledge application. Knowledge service, which is implemented adhering to user-orientation, to meet the needs of the user's knowledge, to customer satisfaction, and ultimately to achieve the purpose of knowledge innovation as the starting and destination point, is the result of society informationalization and knowlegization, is a further format of service which is implemented to meet the need of knowledge management, is a trend of library service development. Under the impact of knowledge application and knowledge innovation environment, it is a key for a person, an organization, even a nation to enhance the ability of innovation and to improve competition to get access to useful knowledge, make full use and share knowledge.The University Library, as a service, educational, academic information organization, is a main base of knowledge collection, collation, storage and dissemination. In process of teaching and researching, university library is not only an important support of technical innovation, but also the main participants and security of process innovation and concept innovation. University Library has become the "Master Class" for students to gain the latest knowledge and the "the main front" of social teaching.In the context, it is not only a theoretical issue, but also a practical one which is related to university libraries as well as the development of the civilization of the whole society for university library to conduct innovative knowledge service rely on their human, resources and technology, to develop in the era of knowledge economy and to enhance capabilities of knowledge service in order to meet the requirements of scientific and technological innovation. After collection, investigation, qualitative research and quantitative analysis of data from literature research and analysis, as well as questionnaires and interviews, the author found out that foreign university library pays attention to the practice of knowledge service research rather than theory. Very few articles conduct research and exploration from the perspective of library knowledge service directly, not to mention articles specialized on university library knowledge services. In practice, the foreign college and university libraries focus on the concept of knowledge management, use advanced technology methods, explore a variety of further knowledge services and achieved good results. And domestically, discussion of theories concerning the current study of knowledge service, are more intense, but researches combined knowledge service with university library services are relatively rare, the content of practice is small, especially innovative knowledge service practices carried out by colleges and universities independently. The depth of research is not deep enough, it is narrow, lack of theory basis, not to mention the further analysis and research based on the characteristics of the university library, and the adaptability of these theories in the practice of university libraries is not being considered, thus there is no strong theoretical guidance.For these reasons, the author conducted further study toward the construction of university library knowledge services model, after research of knowledge service and theories about knowledge innovation. The central proposition of the paper is colleges and universities knowledge services. The paper aims at building of university library knowledge services based on knowledge innovation referring to the existing research results. The aim is to promote the delivery, use, development and innovation of information resources, realize the intrinsic value of information resources and information products, shorten the distance among libraries, user and society to maximize the library's role as an information center to allow more people to realize and feel the library resources and services, and let users achieve the purpose of knowledge innovation through knowledge service of libraries.The contents of the paper are as follows:The first chapter provides a brief description of the researching background, the purpose and significance of this article, the current status of knowledge services carried out by university libraries both at home and abroad, the overall structure of the full text and the innovation of this article.Chapter two reviewed the related theories, combing the definition of the knowledge innovation, characteristics, methods, the definition of knowledge service, characteristics, basic-levels and concepts alike, with reference to the division of the knowledge services hierarchy of other scholars, knowledge service of university library can be divided into layer of knowledge, layer of knowledge update and layer of knowledge innovation.Chapter three, first of all, analyzed the status of university library knowledge services, mainly for the library of Beijing University and Nanjing University. Then, it analyzed the needs of university library users combined with the existing problems of knowledge services of university library. At last, it mentioned the availability for university libraries to carry out knowledge service based on knowledge innovation.After first three chapters'analysis, the author stated university library knowledge service model based on knowledge innovation, and QQ, Baidu Knows, newsgroups, mobile blog, reading notes and commonly used software alike are being invited into the knowledge service of university library, shorten the distance among library, user and society, to maximize the library's role as an information center to allow more people to realize and feel the library resources and services, and let users achieve the purpose of knowledge innovation through knowledge service of libraries.Chapter five states the steps for University Libraries to carry out knowledge service based on knowledge innovation.Chapter six is a brief conclusion of the article, and it looks forward to the future trend of knowledge services in University Libraries.The prerequisite of Library knowledge service based on knowledge innovation is to meet the need of user for knowledge. The principle is to provide convenience to users, let knowledge service become a part of users'lives eventually, aims at user knowledge innovation to make knowledge service a user-satisfied one. This is a reflection of the value of services, continue to promote and carry out knowledge services in the face of fierce competition. The carry out of the university libraries knowledge services based on knowledge innovation, can not only guide users to discover, use, create knowledge to meet the needs of the users'knowledge and finally achieve knowledge innovation, but also realize the social value of libraries to help it step forward to development and modernization.
