Research On The Formation Of State-Owned Museum Council Of Inner Mongolia

In recent years, China has strongly advocated the establishment of institutions of corporate governance structure, and promoted the formation of the Museum Council. By the end of 2014, the nonprofit cultural institutions of corporate governance structure in Inner Mongolia started,5 public cultural institutions of Baotou city (including Baotou Museum) set up a joint council in the end of January 2015. Ordos city also immediately started pilot work. OrdosLibrary was the first union which consist the library council. Under the guide of Ordos culture Bureau, Ordos Library held the first meeting of the first session of the Council in 17 June 2015, the 15 members of the council come from different fields, including government departments, ESCH community, business and industry, writers, readers, etc.. With the development of the pilot work, the State Cultural Relics Bureau put forward that in 2016 the museum council system would be progressively implemented. Currently, the formation of the Council in Inner Mongolia is quite limited, even not started. As for the reasons, on the one hand it may be preparatory stage; on the other hand, the lack of successful experience and strong guidance block the reform of the management system. I have worked in Ordos Museum for more than seven years, and I know that there are many difficulties in the formation of museum council. But in the new time, it is required to set up the museum council to promote the development of the museum. This study attempts to research the case of the museum council of ICOM home and abroad, to analysis the museum council system of China, especially do research on the current museum management in Inner Mongolia, to explore the feasibility of formation of museum council, and then to put forward ideas and suggestions on how to carry out the museum council in the state-owned museum in our region.
