The state-owned museums, making use of the fiscal investments and social donation to provide public culture goods, should pay attention to the demand of society and improve their efficiencies of serving. The efficiency of a state-owned museum, which can be defined as the comprehensive production of servings created and yet recognized by the social public by using a certain amount of investments, is measurable through the comparison with market information. Considering that the present managerial system may lead to a lack of reasonable promotional system in state-owned museums, the fundamental objective of the innovation in state-owned museums is to improve the efficiency of servings and the core of such innovation is to elicit marketing concepts and competitive mechanism into the management of state-owned museums.Economics mainly discusses the collocation and the availability factors of scarce resources. The thesis has studied the relationship between museums and market in virtue of interrelated economic theories. Based on the conclusion from economic analysis, the thesis has analyzed the government, museums and society as an integrated system and designed a framework for the restructuring of state-owned museums adapt to China, which provided the state-owned museums with systematic scheme of restructuring.With both empirical research and normative research, the thesis has applied interrelated knowledge from economics, museumology, management, sociology and system science into the study to emphasize on the argumentation of the scientificaalness and the applicability of using economic theories to study such kind of problems, which set a rigorous logical system and theoretical foundation for the thesis. Such idea and methodology is significant to both the development of our museum career and the restructuring of cultural affairs.
